After finalizing the pattern pieces, the next step in insulating the trunk for heat and noise was to attach carpet padding to the sound deadening material that is on the inner fender walls. Spray adhesive and heat tape were used to ensure the pieces would stay in place during the Arizona summers.
Once the heat insulation was fitted and installed on the trunk floor, work proceeded to the inner fenders and wheelwells. Because of the compound curves involved, this process required first making the patterns, testing them for fit, then cutting the actual materials.

Once the inner fender walls were finished, the process was repeated by installing a layer of Reflectix, followed by carpet padding, on the wheelwells with spray adhesive.
The next step in the process was to install the Ford Blue carpet on the floor section. After the speaker pods in the fiberglass trapdoor are cut out, it will receive the same treatment.
