1968 Fastback - Modified Hood
The undersides of the hood and decklid were painted in acrylic enamel. The base color is Sapphire Blue Metallic.
After the blue base paint was dry, the hood was taped for the modified LeMans stripes, which took several hours to complete.
After the hood was lightly sanded to remove some small imperfections, several more coats of clear were added to bury the stripes. Finally, this side of the hood is done!
The next step was to paint the four stripes in Hertz Gold, which is a gold dust powder that is mixed in a clear coat.
Once the gold paint was set, two coats of clear were sprayed on the hood and decklid.

Once the final coat of primer was on, and we were satisfied with the workmanship, the primer was sealed and we began painting color on the undersides of the hood and decklid.
